7 Cute Valentine’s Date Ideas in the Inland Empire

Have you made Valentine’s Day plans yet? If you’re in the Inland Empire we have a couple of suggestions for you and your special someone nearby.

1. Visit the UCR Botanical Garden

UCR’s botanical gardens are a hidden gem. Located on the eastern part of the university campus, the collection is home to over 3,500 plant species from all over the world. The 40-acres of flora feature a butterfly garden, rose gardens, a turtle pond, a massive redwood grove, and a fruit orchard. Bring your hiking shoes to explore the 1.5 miles of trails and snacks to relax under a shaded bench with your beloved.

Hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. The 1st and 3rd Sunday a month are open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. All vehicles must display a valid parking permit.

There is no charge for admission but the park does depend on donations for operations and new initiatives.

2. Hike Mt. Roubidoux

This landmark is hard to miss with its iconic cross. Regardless if you come at dawn or dusk, the surrounding city views are immaculate. From the top you’re able to see Riverside, Corona, and Norco. Numerous trails of various difficulties go up the mountain, including paved trails with benches along the way. This is a great way to stay fit and spend quality time together.

3. Mulligan Family Fun Center – Murrieta

You can’t go wrong with a date at Mulligan. This amusement park features an arcade, mini golf, laser tag, go-karts, batting cages, and water slides. If you get hungry Mulligan has pizza, wraps, wings, beer, and ice cream. Check out their prices here

4. Western Science Center

One of the largest natural history museums in the Inland Empire, the Western Science center features local history including geography, early settlers, native Americans, ice age Mastodons, and the mighty T-Rex! Many of the fossils here are directly from the excavation of Diamond Valley Lake near Hemet. Bring your date and don’t forget to explore the gift shop.

5. Rent a boat or jetski in Lake Elsinore

Multiple rentals exist on the northern part of the lake to rent an affordable boat or jetski including Xtreme Boat Rentals, JT’s Rentals, and 12 Watersports by Taerht. Spent the day with your partner enjoying the lake with the beautiful Cleveland mountains as the backdrop.

6. Hot Air Balloon in Perris

Watch the sunset from thousands of feet up on a romantic hot air balloon ride. Experience life from a bird’s eye view as you snuggle close to your person. Skyline Balloons also offers wine tasting and custom events. As a bonus, you might catch skydivers jumping out of planes nearby.
