About these tools
Is this legal advice?
No. The checkers explain California state law in plain English. Local rules can be stricter, so have an attorney review anything you plan to act on.
Where do the numbers come from?
The checkers follow the text of the Civil Code sections they name. The renewal calculator uses the same regional inflation figures California uses for its statewide rent cap.
Do you keep what I enter?
No. The checkers and calculators run in your browser. We count which results come up, without names, addresses or other personal details. Only the detailed calculator asks for your email, so we can send you access.
